Stairway to Heaven in Branson Missouri

Building a much needed stairway for my friends Paul and Janet Miller has been a labor of Love in the last few weeks. Paul and I started working to shape the idea and we have now completed almost all of the stairway with the exception of installing it and finishing it with stain and laquer. All of the wood came from reclaimed lumber picked up from an old wooden bridge. Douglas Fir in 25 foot planks at 3 inch by 13 inch and some of the four layered beams had square nails in them. Pauls friend John Rasmussen of the Imax Complex in Branson Missouri also came over one Saturday to help separate the layers of these old old beams.

The good Lord does all the creative work, I just put it together. Blessed by divine guidance I am able to do what I do and love every minute of it. Here are some pictures of the beams and the work so far.

Tomorrow another day of finishing rails and staining before delivery on Sunday. We will update everyone with more pictures.

Branson has yet another masterpiece

Today we finished an amazing piece of work and delivered it to Helen and Ed Miller in Branson North. Here is a picture of the enormous oval table that I finished just this morning. My friend Nathan and I delivered the table pictured here in the back of my Ford Excursion ... Haha .. yes we took the two leaves out of the center to get it in safely! My wife Judy went with me and it was a grand occasion to deliver such a beautiful piece of work to two great people.

As you can see there are hand painted tiles in-laid into the center of the table. These are hand painted porcelain tiles, such an honor to share my work with another artist.

Here look at the legs on this table, they are hand carved from a single piece of wood.

I will be posting more regarding my work and show you some of the things I have done here in the Branson area. I have a studio in on Yokum Pond Rd just west of Reeds Spring on hwy 76 and would love to have you come and visit. If you have ever seen American Pickers you would know those guys would love my studio as there are antiques everywhere from bikes hanging from the ceiling to old Coca-Cola signs and tools. Ill post a few pictures later. So return often. Come to my website and check out some of my other work also. WWW.Robirds.Com
